This month’s challenge is a simple concept designed to get you thinking about color. Your challenge for November is to incorporate the color Orange into your photograph.
Some Tips To Keep In Mind
The biggest tip I can give you here is to realize that even though the theme’s challenge is orange, it doesn’t mean the entire photograph needs to be orange. Maybe orange is a feature of something within the subject, or it’s a complementary color to the scene. Try to find different ways to use this color in your photography.
- Try to be subtle – Try to take a photograph that just hints at the orange color to see how it can impact your photograph.
- Go to 110% – Or go the other direction and try (as I’ve done above) to make orange your entire frame.
- Research color theory – This is a good opportunity to research color theory. Find out what colors work well with orange and try to use those within your photograph to make a coherent photograph that all works together.
General Guidelines For Participating in Monthly Challenges
To get the most out of the monthly challenges photographs submitted below should be taken within the month of the challenge. If you’d like to share an older photograph that fits the theme in order to help other members find inspiration please do so in the Share Your Shots. Alternatively if you’d like to ask the community for ideas regarding a reshoot of a photograph that you’ve previously taken which would fit this theme you can start a thread on the Image Review.
