Your challenge for the month is to photograph on the theme of low light. Have Fun!
Keep In Mind
Low light photography presents a number of challenges. First of all, most of us sleep at night, so your hours of available time to photograph are limited to the early morning or late night, but this is something that you can schedule around which is rare in the photography world. What’s a bit more challenging is that at the most basic level, photography is about capturing light. The more light you have, the easier it is to get a clear image of your subject.
However, with the continued improvement in sensor technology low light photography is not impossible. Even modern smartphones are pushing boundaries in this realm.
Just remember to increase ISO, open your aperture, or lengthen the shutter time in order to capture as much light as possible. Oh, and don’t forget, this would be a good challenge to keep a tripod handy for.
General Guidelines For Participating in Monthly Challenges
Photographs that you submit should have been taken within the month of the challenge. If you’ve previously taken a photograph that fits the theme of the challenge and would like to share it please do so in the Share Your Shots forum. You might also want to refine a previously shot photograph, in that case, submit your photograph to the Image Review forum and get advice on how you might approach a reshoot of that subject.
Submitting your photographs to the challenge is as simple as replying to this thread on the forum and attaching your image.
